ASYLUM

This application comes into play when an individual fears persecution if they are returned to their home country, or country of last residence in some circumstances. They may also file for protection under the Convention Against Torture. For more details, please visit Asylum on this site.

BUSINESS IMMIGRATION

EB-5; Intra-company Transferees and Treaty Traders, Investors and Working Visas

Investor Visas - EB-5.

This also involves investing in a new or on-going company in the United States. However, the investment required for this type of visa is $500,000 or more. This visa may also lead to permanent residence for the individual, spouse and children who are under the age of 21.

Intra-company Transferee Visas

This visa involves a foreign company or its principals creating a subsidiary, affiliate or branch in the United States. This type of visa can be changed into permanent residence for the individual, spouse and children who are under the age of 21.

Treaty Trader and Treaty Investor Visas

These visas are available by Treaty between the United States and the individual’s home country or country of citizenship or nationality.
A Treaty Investor in this category may invest in any type of lawful business withour the larger financial requirements of the transferee or the EB-5 investor.

The Treaty Trader must invest in a business that does trade between the company in the United States and the home country and other countries.

Working Visas

These involves professionals and skilled individuals including health-care professionals and others. Spouses and children under 21 are entitled to derivative status along with the principal applicants.  For more information, please visit Business Immigration on this site.

CITIZENSHIP

Generally, individuals who have 5 years of lawful permanent residence have the right to apply for citizenship in the United States. There are also several other ways of becoming a citizen of the United States. For more details, please click here:> Citizenship

CONVENTION AGAINST TORTURE

This  involves claims by individuals that they believe they will, more likely than not, be subjected to torture if they are returned to their home country, or country of last residence. For more details, please click  here:> Asylum

DEPORTATION DEFENSE

This involves virtually all areas of defense when an individual has been placed in deportation or removal proceedings. This includes applications such as Permanent Residence, Cancellation of Removal for certain permanent residents and non-permanent residents; and also includes appeals to the Administrative Appeals Office, the Board of Immigration Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals. FAMILY IMMIGRATION

Relative Petitions - These are petitions filed by relatives (parents, spouses and children who are United States citizens or residents) of the individual seeking permanent residence.

FAMILY UNITY WAIVER

EMPLOYMENT BASED PETITIONS
These may be filed by employers on behalf of foreign workers after there is an approval of a Labor Certification Application. Approval of these petitions permits the beneficiaries to adjust their status in the United States or file for their residence in their home country.
